End of an era

Here’s an interesting story on Sherwood’s decision to stop making wooden sticks:

Along with learning how to skate, one thing I am indeed looking forward to as I get into the game more is whether my opinion on wooden sticks vs one-piece will change.

As I have blogged before, the one-piece sticks are just so damn sexy, it will be hard for an equipment and gear junkie like myself to ignore them.

But I have yet to pick one up and feel any confidence in it.

If anybody has any practical experience and advice on the issue, drop me a comment.

A note about ‘The Rocket’

A few people have asked me what's up with the image at the top of the page. Well, it's an image courtesy of Marc Audet. Along with being a weird hybrid Calgary Flames and Ottawa Senators fan, he is also one of the region's top illustrators. You can check out more of his work at Rocket 57
